Negative Calorie Diet
Principle of the negative calorie diet
The Negative Calorie Diet advocates that as your body as to burn energy to digest certain types of food, it is also burning fat. For instance, an orange that contains 50 calories would require your body to burn more than 50 calories in order to absorb the orange’s nutrients and vitamins.
The Negative Calorie Diet claims that after consuming these “negative calorie” foods, your body starts using more calories than it is digesting. Therefore, you lose weight.
The amount of energy that you burn from eating food depends on your metabolism.
